Hi,

I am Stan Nenov, the Electronic Services Supervisor at the Central Branch of Queens Borough Public Library, New York.

Much of my professional life revolves around creating and updating websites, training librarians how to use the web content management system and teaching research and emerging computer technologies classes.

I also supervise staff at a 48-seat computer center and do basic troubleshooting on all 80 computers at Central Branch. I truly enjoy my job.

From 2000 to 2005 I worked for the Brooklyn Public Library where I was Young Adult Librarian, Senior Librarian and Branch Manager.

In 2006 I was promoted to Young Adult Cluster Specialist and as such I trained and supervised librarians and managed the teen collections, programs, and services within a cluster of four branches: Bedford, Marcy, Walt Whitman and Clinton Hill.

In Bedford-Styvesant Brooklyn I worked closely with community organizations to better serve the informational, recreational, and educational needs of our teen patrons.

Before coming to the United States of America in 1997, I was a journalist in Bulgaria, a country situated on the Balkan Peninsula in Eastern Europe. I was a social and political reporter right after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of communism in my country.

For five years I worked for some of the national daily newspapers and for the Bulgarian National Television. These were really exciting and interesting times for Bulgaria and the whole region.

In my leisure time, I enjoy listening to music, especially my favorite band Kansas. I love skiing and New York's proximity to various ski resorts allows me to visit the slopes with my family for at least a couple of weeks every winter.

I also enjoy traveling in different countries, playing soccer, driving my car, and meeting with friends.
